Broken Sword I - The Shadow of the Templars - ISO



The game was developed by Revolution Software and has been hailed by critics and fans alike as one of the finest examples of point-and-click-style adventure games. It is a traditional point-and-click adventure, where the player has to logically come up with answers and solutions to riddles and problems that he or she encounters during the course of the game. Audio features of the game include recorded Foley and sound effects, orchestral music and recorded voices of voice actors. The game graphics are animated in a style which resembles classic animated films. The game was directed by Charles Cecil and the original score was composed by Barrington Pheloung.

Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror



Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror is the second game in the Broken Sword series of computer games, and was released on October 31, 1997. The second game in the series, released in 1997, opens with George Stobbart witnessing the kidnapping of his now girlfriend Nicole Collard, followed by being tied to a chair in a burning house with a deadly spider on the loose. From here follows another exciting globetrotting adventure, this time involving an evil Mayan god and a conspiracy revolving around the forthcoming solar eclipse. Once again the music is composed by Barrington Pheloung and Rolf Saxon returns to lead the cast, with a different actress playing Nico Collard. Graphics are of the same high standard seen in the first game, with a few tweaks to the engine to include smoke effects and so on. The game was often described as "rushed" citing reasons such as an unpolished storyline and linear gameplay (there is no freedom of movement from location to location, but from one another after certain tasks are completed). Even so, the game was a critical and commercial success, but on a smaller scale than the game's predecessor.
